Kristie Onorato was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, but has called Atlanta home since 2001. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Ohio State, Kristie studied art in Paris and then moved to NYC where she got her master’s degree in administration with a certificate in Fine Art from Parsons School of Design. As an art teacher for many years, she has an eye for design and a love for decorating and remodeling.
While living in Cleveland and for over a decade after relocating to Atlanta, Kristie bought and sold many homes after completing extensive renovations. She actually auditioned and was in the running for an HGTV show! Her focus shifted back to education, however, when a position opened up at her daughter’s school, a community that had quickly felt like an extension of family away from home. Kristie was able to dedicate many more wonderful years to teaching and being involved in her daughter's life because of it.
Giving her all to being a mom, art teacher, and cheerleading coach, Kristie recognized that involvement in the community was a way to stay connected to the organizations and relationships that made her fall in love with Atlanta in the first place. She has been an active member of her church for 22 years, volunteering in children’s and teen environments while also leading and participating in women’s Bible studies. She keeps up with her sorority alumni group, neighborhood book club, college football tailgates, dinners out with friends, concerts, and shows at The Fox. Since 2015, Kristie has volunteered together with her daughters for philanthropies all over Atlanta through their Roswell-Alpharetta chapter of the National Charity League. If nothing else is going on, you will find Kristie working on another painting at home with her faithful pet of over 14 years, her little Yorkie, Teddy, by her side.
With her youngest daughter, Isabelle, about to graduate from high school and her other daughter, Annelise, well into her time at UGA, Kristie recognized that a new chapter of her life was also about to begin! She has decided to go back into using her sales skills, which aren’t too different from teaching skills. Whether teaching a classroom full of teenagers or leading a couple through the home-buying experience, they all benefit from her caring nature, attention to detail, and fun in helping people make life changes. She is excited to begin this next phase of her life in Real Estate!
