Every event the City of Dunwoody has on its October 2026 calendar takes place at Brook Run Park, 4770 North Peachtree Road. That includes the concert finale, the rescheduled Broadway night, the pet blessing, Truck or Treat and the Saturday farmers market. Because they all share one address, the month follows a pattern by day of the week. Saturdays and Thursday evenings belong to the park. Sunday mornings move to Chamblee Dunwoody Road. There is one exception, and it falls on October 25.
Here is the whole month in one place, in order.

Saturday, October 10 Is the Park's Longest Day
The Groovin' On The Green series ends on October 10 at the Brook Run Park Amphitheater. It runs from 6 to 9 p.m. with food trucks and giveaways, and the city suggests bringing lawn chairs. The headliner is Slippery When Wet, a Bon Jovi tribute act Jason Morey started in 2003. According to the city's event page, he started it after many people asked whether he was Jon Bon Jovi, and after Dave Chappelle once invited him backstage thinking he was the real singer.
The city has also put an EV Showcase on the calendar for the same evening. It runs from 5 to 7 p.m. next to the amphitheater entrance, so it overlaps with the first hour of the concert. If you show up a little early, you can see both without leaving the park.
That Saturday starts much earlier on Roberts Drive. Dunwoody Nature Center at 5343 Roberts Drive holds its free Second Saturday Volunteering session from 9 a.m. to noon. A morning at the Nature Center and an evening at the amphitheater fill the day with time to spare.
The Broadway Night Moved, and Its Start Time Is Still Unclear
Broadway at Brook Run was first set for September 17. On September 15, City of Dunwoody Communications Director Jennifer Boettcher posted that the Callanwolde Concert Band needed more rehearsal time and that the show was postponed with no new date yet. A follow-up on September 22 gave the new date as Thursday, October 22, from 6 to 7 p.m.
The city's calendar page for the event, titled "New date: Broadway at Brook Run," shows a different time: 7 to 8 p.m. at the amphitheater. Plan for 6 p.m. and look at the city calendar the week of the show. Popcorn, water and soft drinks will be for sale, and coolers are allowed. It's an hour-long weeknight concert with the same setup as the Saturday series.
Truck or Treat on October 29 is the other Thursday on the calendar. Dunwoody Parks and Recreation, Dunwoody Police and the Dunwoody Homeowners Association host it at Brook Run Park. The city says it is typically held on the last Thursday of October, with food trucks, live entertainment and trick-or-treating, starting at 5 p.m. this year. Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, so the city's event comes two days before it.
Sundays Belong to Chamblee Dunwoody Road
The city schedules nothing for October Sunday mornings, and a private market fills that slot. SPS Productions hosts The Shops of Dunwoody Farmers Market at 5468 Chamblee Dunwoody Road every Sunday this month: October 4, 11, 18 and 25, each from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Dunwoody Homeowners Association runs its own market on Saturdays at Brook Run, and the city calendar lists it on October 3 from 9 a.m. to noon. Between them, the two markets cover both weekend mornings at two different spots.
The shopping center around the Sunday market is changing too. Wasabi House closed on June 14 after 27 years at The Shops of Dunwoody. The center then announced leases with four new tenants: Beyond Juicery + Eatery, JETSET Pilates, Tenku Sushi and SWEAT440. When those leases were announced, all four were expected to open over summer and fall 2026.
Here is where each one stood as of early September:
- Beyond Juicery + Eatery: Discover Dunwoody's September 4 roundup lists it as recently opened at 5482 Chamblee Dunwoody Road. A July 23 report in the Dunwoody Brookhaven Ledger said the lease was signed but no opening date was set, so check before you go.
- Tenku Sushi: Still listed as coming soon in the same September 4 roundup. No opening date has been announced.
- JETSET Pilates and SWEAT440: Both still listed as coming soon, also with no opening dates.
So a sushi restaurant is moving into the center that lost its longtime sushi house. Once all four tenants open, the Sunday market will be surrounded by more businesses than it is now.
October 25 Is the One Sunday the Park Joins In
On the last Sunday of the month, the city and private calendars overlap. The day looks like this:
- The Shops of Dunwoody Farmers Market runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Chamblee Dunwoody Road.
- Dunwoody Nature Center holds a Beaded Houseplants Workshop with ScrapLanta from 1 to 3 p.m. at 5343 Roberts Drive.
- The Blessing of the Pets starts at 2 p.m. at the Brook Run Dog Park, with pet blessings, prayers for healing and memorial prayers. All pets are welcome if they are leashed or caged.
- The Halloween pet photo shoot starts at 3 p.m. at the same dog park, and costumes are encouraged. You register through the city's recreation catalog under Barks and Rec programs.
The workshop and the pet blessing overlap by an hour, so households that want both will need to split up or pick one. The market, on the other hand, ends an hour before the blessing starts.
Why the City Keeps Booking Brook Run
Brook Run has room for all of it. The city's park profile lists a playground, a multi-use trail, a skate park, a dog park, a community garden, artificial-turf baseball and multi-use fields, the amphitheater, open fields, pavilions and Treetop Quest. The dog park is open from 7 a.m. to sunset. The skate park stays open until 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The city has also been adding to the park. A new two-floor, 8,400-square-foot maintenance facility on DeKalb Drive was finished in May 2026. It replaced an older building and includes storage, loading docks, a workshop and offices. The park's Veterans Memorial, with a plaza, an eternal flame and service flags, was dedicated on November 11, 2025, so its first anniversary comes less than two weeks after Truck or Treat.
More work is in the planning stages. The city asked for proposals on a hillside play structure next to the multi-use fields, with bids due June 26, 2026, and for planning and concept design to renovate or rebuild the Brook Run greenhouse, with quotes due August 10, 2026. Appen Media reported that the city was preparing an $88,000 contract to repair the artificial turf on all four Brook Run fields, with no start date set. None of these projects has a published construction schedule that would affect October events.
Where to Eat Outside the Park
The city's events stay at Brook Run, but this year's new restaurants have opened near Perimeter. Varuni Napoli was scheduled to open on August 5 at High Street, 120 High St., Suite 100, and Rough Draft Atlanta's August roundup lists it as open. Rosetta Bakery is also listed as open at High Street in Rough Draft's September 30 roundup. Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is open at Park Place, 4505 Ashford Dunwoody Road NE, Suite 150. Next on the list is Adega Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse, planned as its first Georgia location at Twelve24, 1224 Hammond Drive. It is targeting December 2026 and hasn't announced an exact date.
