Over Labor Day, Dave and I were able to take a quick getaway to London. It was my first time, even in all my travels as a flight attendant, I had never been to London. I absolutely fell in love with the city. We took in all the history and site seeing and Dave managed to plan what I have been calling a food tour around the city. One of our favorite things to do when we travel is to take a cooking lesson. This time it was an Indian food lesson at one of Jamie Oliver’s Cookery Schools. It was fun, our food was delicious and we met some nice locals. Our favorite meal was a splurge at Gordon Ramsay’s Petrus, what an amazing dining experience. We were also very fortunate to get tickets to the Evening State Room Tour at Buckingham Palace. It’s a private tour that the royal family only allows during certain times of the year when the queen is on holiday. The one thing I missed this trip was the Harrods experience, I guess now I have a reason to go back!
Jack and Kate are thriving in school, and working hard to keep up their grades. Jack is active in the school's TSA Club(Technology Student Association) and focusing on the FLL (First Lego League) competition coming up next month. If you aren’t familiar with this club, the States TSA Group gives the students a map and a list of challenges and they need to program Lego Mindstorms and create the challenge items out of Legos they have at each school to complete each challenge. I’m in awe of the ideas these kids come up with, they are so creative. If Jack doesn’t pursue a career in engineering when he is older it will be a real shame! Kate is playing soccer at Concorde again this year and has me driving all over Atlanta for games on the weekends. I volunteered to be the Team Manager, not realizing what I signed myself up for. Let me just say, that what I am doing for the team has nothing to do with organizing a snack schedule. Kate and I are planning to run in the PCMS CV Classic on October 28th, The Suits Team is a proud sponsor. I hope to see many of you there.
Inventory remains low and we are seeing a bigger trend of price reductions right now. I’m also noticing that people aren’t even making low offers on homes that they feel are overpriced. Interest rates remain low (3.8%-4.0%), but word on the street is that we should expect rates to slowly rise over 2018. Everything I have been reading predicts that the Atlanta market will remain strong into 2018. So, while interest rates are still low, now is a great time to sell and buy!
